The Pompano Beach Amp is proud to present three classic bands on one incredible night. Join us July 15th for Pure Prairie League with Poco and Firefall for an evening of unforgettable hits.
From 1976 through the early 1980’s, the Boulder-based band, Firefall, saturated the nation’s radio air waves and toured the world over, selling millions of records and earning two platinum and three gold albums. Their many hits – “You Are The Woman,” “Just Remember I Love You,” “Strange Way,” “Cinderella,” “Mexico,” ” Livin’ Ain’t Livin’,” ” So Long,” ” Goodbye I Love You,” ” Sweet and Sour” and others – are faithfully recreated with a freshness rare in live performances of such classics that are heard on radio station everywhere.
Poco was leading group to pioneer Country-Rock music. The harmonies and instruments of Country mixed with Rock’n’Roll rhythms, paved the way for super groups like the Eagles. Poco’s influence runs deep in both Country and Pop music. With classic songs such as “Crazy Love”, “Heart of the Night”, “A Good Feelin’ to Know”, “Call It Love” and “Keep On Tryin”, and they remain a legendary mainstay in the music industry till this day
From their first eponymous first album, Pure Prairie League was hailed as a major early influence in the emerging popularity of Country-Rock music. Their second effort, the multiplatinum “Bustin’ Out” brought us the Craig Fuller-penned classic “Amie,” along with other gems of the genre. With “Two Lane Highway”, nine more albums and countless shows, a legacy has been forged and enriched during the ‘70s and 80’s. Featuring founding member/pedal-steel innovator John David Call, veteran bassist Mike Reilly, propulsive drummer Scott Thompson and guitar ace Donnie Clark, Pure Prairie League continues to embellish the rich history of one of Country-Rock’s pioneering forces.
